Refinancing Checklist
Getting organized is a great way to start the refinancing process, and it all begins with gathering required paperwork. Here are the documents you need:
Proof of income
- Pay stubs for the last 30 days
- W-2 forms for the last two years
- Tax returns for the last two years
- Pension income statements
- Brokerage statements detailing dividend income
- Child support/alimony
- If self-employed:
- Year-to-date profit and loss statement and balance sheet
- Personal and business tax returns
Statements of debt
- Car loans
- Student loans
- Credit card accounts
- Current mortgage or home equity lines of credit
- Divorce decree detailing alimony or child support payments
Statements of assets
- Checking and savings account statements
- Credit union statements
- Mutual fund accounts
- IRA & 401(k) retirement account statements
- Security accounts (stocks, bonds, life insurance)
Identification
- Social security number
- Your addresses from the last two years
